Ommegang Hennepin Farmhouse Saison

I bought this beer in a three pack of bombers, complete with a nice Ommegang glass. Ommegang always has solid brews, so this three pack seemed like a safe bet, plus those extra glasses always come in handy.
Scent
After cracking this one open, The first sent that hits me is the yeasty grassiness that usually comes with farmhouse ales/saisons. This one also has a bit of orange aroma to it, along with a slight banana scent that you usually find in hefeweizens.
Taste
This is a nice one. The flavor is pretty sweet, almost too much so, but really nice — mostly yeasty with a bit of banana, clove, and coriander…pretty much like it smells. This isn’t necessarily a flavor thing, but it reminds me somewhat of champagne in how it goes down.
Overall
I do really enjoy this farmhouse/saison. For being 7.7% ABV, it is very smooth and the alcohol burn is pretty well covered up, though it is there to some extent. I probably wouldn’t reach for this one all that often, but when I’m in the mood for a nice, strong summer beer, this one would definitely be one to consider.
