Avery Liliko‘i Kepolo

A bunch of six-packs of this beer caught my eye in the back corner of the store, just stacked up on the floor. It was the bright blue can and nice illustration that got me, and I was intrigued.
Scent
To start off, there is a very heavy passion fruit or guava aroma. I’m no expert in tropical fruit, so I’ll just go with passion fruit since this beer is brewed with it (heh). It almost reminds me of those little cans of guava nectar you can get at the grocery store. Other than that, a little bit of a wheat scent comes through.
Taste
The flavor is predominantly sweet and fruity, with the passion fruit dominating the wheat and all other aspects of this beer. The sweetness isn’t overpowering or cloying, though, and it’s balanced out by a light tartness toward the end and into the aftertaste.
Overall
This is one very fruity, light, refreshing, and easy drinking beer. Try to imagine a Blue Moon, but smoother, less spicy and sharp, lighter, and packed with a punch of passion fruit. That’s the best way I can describe this one. What a great summer beer this is. I’m very happy I spotted this. I honestly don’t think I’ve ever had a better witbier.
